Why I Am Seeking This Position

As a Fall 2023 initiate of the Epsilon Beta Chapter at the University of  Texas, I am seeking the position of Collegiate Member of the 2027 National Nominating Committee for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. My vision is to amplify collegiate engagement and introduce a dynamic, fresh perspective to the development and selection of future leaders. I aim to empower collegiate members to realize their full potential by eliminating barriers to leadership and fostering a legacy of inclusivity and innovation. I plan to transform how we engage collegiate members by creating innovative tools and experiences that inspire action and leadership. I envision vibrant infographics that demystify the application process and interactive workshops that enhance public speaking skills and boost confidence. By addressing anxieties surrounding higher-level positions, we can ensure our members feel supported and prepared to lead. I am also committed to implementing forward-thinking strategies for evaluating candidates and introducing thoughtful and fair methods that resonate with our Sorority's mission and values. My role as a Texas Interdisciplinary Scholars mentor has equipped me with insights into tailoring strategies that meet diverse needs, enhancing participation, and driving engagement. I aim to cultivate a culture where collegiate members feel deeply connected and inspired to step boldly into leadership roles. Together, we can create opportunities that invigorate our Sisterhood, elevate future leaders, and secure Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.'s legacy of excellence. Let’s empower the next generation of trailblazers to rise and lead purposefully with fortitude!

 Tuning into Tomorrow

Track 1: Harmonizing New Voices

This track is all about turning up the volume on collegiate involvement. We need a vibrant and dynamic sound, a fresh melody introduced into the established harmony of our beloved sorority. It's about ensuring the energy and perspectives of collegiate members resonate powerfully to a true crescendo of their influence. I want to focus on removing obstacles  that prevent collegiate members from seeking leadership positions, ensuring they feel supported and prepared to lead in a variety of national positions.

Track 2: Empowering the Rising Notes

This track focuses on equipping our collegiate sisters to confidently step into the spotlight. We need to eliminate any discordant notes or barriers that might silence their leadership potential. It's about providing the platform and the skills for each member to take their own powerful solo, showcasing their unique talents and abilities without hesitation. Focusing on building confidence and providing skill-building opportunities (like public speaking workshops) so that collegiate members feel prepared and motivated to seek leadership roles. This ensures diverse perspectives are represented.

Track 3: Laying Down Innovative Beats

This track is about creating a captivating and accessible experience for collegiate members. Think vibrant visual rhythms – like groovy infographics – that make the application process easy to follow. We'll also introduce interactive jam sessions – workshops to help them find their voice and build confidence through public speaking. It's about establishing a compelling and engaging rhythm that draws everyone in.

Track 4: Harmonious Selection

This track is dedicated to ensuring the selection process is seamless; flowing like a rhythmic overture. It's about conducting the selection process with clarity and precision, ensuring every note contributes to a balanced and representative outcome.
